Alyson Cramer first became interested in physical therapy the way many future therapists do—by breaking her foot in high school and experiencing physical therapy firsthand. She quickly realized, “Hey, I could do this! This would be way better than sitting at a desk all day!” After graduating high school, she pursued the physical therapy path at Tulsa Community College, earning an Associate’s degree in Exercise Science in 2019 and later completing her Physical Therapist Assistant degree in 2021.
Alyson began her therapy career at an outpatient pediatric clinic in Tulsa, where she worked for nearly three years and loved every moment of it. She then transitioned to an outpatient orthopedic clinic for about eight months, where she discovered a passion for working with the geriatric population, especially in the areas of balance and strengthening. That experience ultimately led her to realize that Life Motion would be the perfect place for her.
An outdoors-loving, sports enthusiast, Alyson has always had a passion for caring for others. Growing up deeply involved in softball and basketball, her love for activity has carried into adulthood. Today, she enjoys hiking, playing slow-pitch softball, and spending time with her four dogs, who never miss a chance for a walk or adventure. She also loves traveling and hopes to explore more of the world in the years ahead. Whether she’s on the field, on the trail, or supporting those around her, she strives to bring positivity, energy, and genuine care into everything she does.
Alyson’s Story:
Maybe because her parents pushed her not to rely on anyone, Alyson Cramer grew up to be a cut-her-own-trail person. That trail led her here to LifeMotion and a position as one of our Physical Therapy Assistants. It’s work she finds deeply satisfying.
“I enjoy working with patients,” She says. “I love to see the light bulb moment when we do something, and their pain goes away, or they come back feeling so much better.”
After attending OSU, Alyson graduated from Tulsa Community College’s Physical Therapy Assistant program—a major accomplishment because she’s the first college graduate in her family. Especially impressive considering she had earlier turned down a full-ride softball scholarship. But that would mean moving away to a D2 school far from her parents and the home she loved.
“I just didn’t think that I would have a good time,” she says. “It broke my dad’s heart when I told him I decided to stay and pursue my career.”
Alyson has a soft spot for kids and the elderly after working with both for almost three years in her first PTA job at a pediatric clinic. As luck would have it, she crossed paths and graduated with Leisha Fowler while attending TCC.
“Leisha told me how she loves it at LifeMotion,” Alyson says. “So I was really excited to meet Holly and Ryan.”
Since joining our team, Alyson has found a home at LifeMotion.
“It’s a genuine place where we take quality time with each patient.” She says. “I wanted a job where I felt almost like family, and that’s what it feels like here.”
Speaking of family, her dad recently told her, “You got me. When you told me you weren’t gonna go play softball. I was really upset, but how could I argue with a child wanting to pursue their career?”
What else could her parents have expected after raising her to stand up for herself? That’s exactly what makes her a valued member of our LifeMotion family.
