After multiple surgeries related to a skiing accident, Nikhil Vaidya faced a tough road back to living his life in full motion. We’re pleased to have played a part in it.
Nikhil’s fall happened during a family spring break vacation in Colorado in 2022. It left him with a shattered right hip, a broken left hand, a concussion. After an initial surgery and extensive physical therapy with the LifeMotion team, he underwent a second surgery in his sophomore year to remove a metal plate.
He credits his orthopedist, Brent Norris, and LifeMotion physical therapists Ryan Smith and Trevor McKay for their help in his recovery.
Beginning with an electric wheelchair, his recovery also included a specialized walker for about 10 months until he was able to walk again without assistance.
As for his four years of recovery, after helping Holland Hall’s boys tennis team win the state 4A championship, Nikhil was honored as the All-World Awards’ Comeback Athlete of the Year in 2026.
